Job Description

CHM Bible Theatre is dedicated to making a positive impact on our community by providing art, theater and leadership programs and support to those in need. We rely heavily on grants, private donors and fundraising to sustain our youth programs and services, and we are seeking a Director of Development to lead our fundraising efforts.


The Director of Development will be responsible for planning and implementing a comprehensive fundraising program that includes major gifts, corporate and foundation giving, planned giving, and special events.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to develop fundraising goals and strategies, and will manage and train a team of fundraising volunteers.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan to meet the organization’s annual revenue goals.
• Identify and cultivate major gift prospects, as well as corporate and foundation donors.
• Plan and execute special events that engage donors and raise funds for the organization.
• Manage and lead a team of fundraising professionals, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
• Collaborate with the Communications team to develop and execute effective donor communications and marketing materials.
• Work closely with the Executive Director to develop fundraising strategies and goals.
• Monitor and analyze fundraising data to evaluate performance and adjust strategies as needed.
• Public speaking and Public Relations
• Develop partnerships and build relationships with community leaders

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, or a related field preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a proven track record of success in major gifts, corporate and foundation giving, special events and other areas that were successful.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write compelling donor communications and marketing materials.
• Strong leadership and management skills, with experience managing a team of fundraising professionals.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, Board members, and volunteers.
• Experience with public speaking
• Experience with fundraising software and donor databases.
• Experience with thank you letters and acknowledgments to donors
• A deep commitment to the mission and values of our organization.
